Throughout the Year many extra-curricular activities take place, below is a list of what is on offer to our pupils:
Football – Boys and Girls in Years 5 and 6 attend this on a Monday after school, where they experience new skills and develop others. Those that do attend this club also have the opportunity to take part in various footballing festivals throughout the year which take place in local high schools and compete against other Wrexham primary schools.
This is organised and ran by Mr P. Whittaker and Mr T. Owen
Board games – All children in Years 5 and 6 have the opportunity to attend this club during lunch time on a Wednesday for half an hour. Although they are ‘playing’, they are also enhancing their social skills, practicing their flexible thinking, and increasing attention spans and their ability to focus. Current favourites are chess, Banagrams and Uno!

Table Tennis – Currently running afterschool Table Tennis club for Class E and F. Table Tenis Wales are running the club for us- learning the basic skills such as hand position and aim and applying them in small fun games.
ICT Club– Will start after Christmas. This is a coding club for the digital champions. It is a chance to hone coding skills, so they become the experts in each class. It is for fun so we will completing different mini coding projects each week.
This is organised by Miss Singleton.
Residential Visits.
In Year 6 all children have the opportunity to attend Robinwood which consists of 15 activities, below are a few examples:
- Climbing
- Caving
- Archery
- Canoeing
- Nightline
- Piranha Pool
During their 2 night stay children will experience and develop many skills such as:
- Challenge themselves to overcome fears
- Improve their listening skills
- Take on leadership roles
- Become more confident speaking out in a group
- Support others in challenging situations
- Become great team members and help their group work more as a team
- Work successfully with children they would not normally work with
- Become more aware of the needs of others
- Improve their problem-solving skills
- Develop new skills
- Overcome physical challenges
