Running club
Running club is going well. We are aiming to run a mile in under than 10 minutes.
Santa Dash
Year 5 and 6 took part in our Santa Dash around Acton Park. It was great to be active in our local community with support from local police and Nightingale House Hospice. So far we have raised a fantastic £456.78! This will be shared with Nightingale House. Well done to all children who took part.

Welsh Water
Children had a virtual lesson delivered by Welsh Water.
Eco-readymix
A huge well done to one of our pupils for winning a competition run by eco-readymix. They had over 500 designs to choose from. The successful winner won an Art set and received a certificate, along with a cheque for £200 for school.
Author Visit
Big thank you to author Matt Whelan who delivered three fantastic creative writing workshops. The children have truly been inspired to write. Thank you
Victorian Houses
Class G, H and I have all had a great time designing and making Victorian show box rooms. We went outside to peer assess each other’s work and were joined by our judging panel of Class D who chose their favourite rooms from each class

Rhosddu School will be involved in the development of Techniquest Glyndwr’s new science garden.
One of the projects that we will be involved in is building a ‘bottle greenhouse’. We will be collecting empty, clean, 2 litre, clear, plastic bottles from today!
The science garden will also have a bug hotel!

Year 5 & 6 enjoyed watching the Live Launch of Tim Peake’s Principia Mission on 15th December 2015. The children were invited to view the launch at Techniquest Glyndwr. A moment to remember!
BBC Children in Need 2015
Year 5 children got to use their money skills during our Children In Need Bake Sale 2015. Total money raised for non-uniform and cakes was £370! Well done Rhosddu.
In October we selected our Librarians, House Captains, Deputy/ Head Boy/Girl for 2015-2016. Well done year 6. It was lovely to read the comments from your peers as to why you would make a good role model for the school.

House Captains:
Year 6 are always kept busy in Rhosddu. Prefects and House Captains have important jobs to do all year round. Head Boy, Head Girl and their deputies all play an important role in school life. They are role models and assist Mrs Young with various tasks during the year.
Sports Day 2015
Year 6 top athletes receive a trophy each for winning the most points for their house.
