Upper Key Stage 2

Classes are organised in the following way:

Class G – Year 5 – Mr P Whittaker supported by Mrs Heath (teaching assistant)

Class H – Year 5/6 – Mrs Z Jebb / Mrs L Aldridge

Class I – Year 6 – Mr T Owen / Mrs Davies supported by Mrs Koswaththage (teaching assistant)

As our pupils reach the end of their time at Rhosddu we encourage them to take a greater responsibility for themselves and others. As well as becoming role models for the younger members of the school and representing Rhosddu at sporting events, our Year 6 children, in particular, take on a range of responsibilities; from door and dining hall monitors to Prefects, Head Girl and Head Boy.

All Year 5 and Year 6 children have the opportunity to participate in residential visits intended to encourage our pupils’ independence and resilience. This time away from home is often one of the highlights of their time at Rhosddu!

Many of our Year 6 children have been with us for more than seven years, so we make every effort to ensure that their transition to High School is as smooth as possible. We work closely with a variety of local High Schools.
